Essay Reading Challenge 2013

Hosted by Carrie, this challenge runs from 01JAN-31DEC and has three levels of entry – 10, 20 and 30 essays. I’m actually going to aim for one essay a week and I’ll add links to my posts discussing them below. I might not write huge posts about each essay but I promise to at least mention what I’m reading and general responses along the way. I’m thinking a mix of literary criticism essays and popular science will make up the bulk of my reading for this challenge but we’ll see. :)

WEEKLY UPDATES:

Week One: What is an Essay? Who is ‘the father of the English Essay’?
Seeking Out Female Authored Essays
Review: Who Betrays Elizabeth Bennet? by John Sutherland
Review: What Matters In Jane Austen? by John Mullan

(I was trying to write a monthly update for January but realised it was going to be incredibly long so I’ve broken it into weekly chunks and am posting these over the next week or two to catch up!)
